Day 26: Huh.

We last left our heroine (me) plagued with aches and wondering if this was all a bust. Today, we discover that things aren’t so bad.

After my sad little run yesterday I was pretty gimpy… I was slow going down stairs and generally extremely sore. But I took some meds, and last night after a delicious dinner (more on that in a sec) I did some extra stretching. This morning I still felt pretty sore, but by lunchtime — and certainly by 2pm when I had my personal training — I felt almost entirely better. And at some point in between leg presses, pulldowns and something to do with triceps, I took a step without anticipating pain… and found none. In other words, this whole running-through-the-soreness thing? IT WORKS. I’m now feeling totally prepared to run this weekend!

P.S. Dinner last night, and tonight: Magic Spicy Peanut Sauce (with udon and chicken/veg stir fry, but disregard the accoutrements and focus on the sauce). It was so good, I’m capitalizing it. It would only be inaccurate to say that Peattie and I licked the bowl because, well, we didn’t; I licked the spoon, and we also dipped raw snap peas in the sauce until it was mostly gone. And I say mostly because there’s a little baby tupperware left which is going to be eaten up in the next two hours by yours truly. My big plans for Friday are, indeed, leftovers (sorta; I’m really only reusing the sauce, and repeating the recipe from yesterday sans chicken and plus tofu). This sauce makes leftovers and finding something to watch on Netflix “Watch instantly” on a Friday sound appealing. The only thing I’d say is that had I made it as written, it would have been too spicy and even a little too tangy. I added an extra tablespoon of peanut butter, and were I to make it again I’d do that and cut back on the sriracha and/or the garlic chili sauce. Still. Two thumbs up. Highly nommable
